SENTINEL RISING
Certainly the Sentinel rises before the storm. It may be slowly at times, as though it’s wings were burdened down with dew accumulated through the long midnight hours. When time seems to lengthen according to it’s own desires. According to it’s own flameless fires of wooden ashes , long over due for the stoking offered by h Tender’s hands. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust a saying, a biblical verse, a truisim that speaks with eternal volume of life’s natural course. Almost a scientific maxim as it it observable, repeatable and one is able to verify it’s existence . One that can and often is instigated by “man’s” own hand , since the time of Cain and Able, brother has come against brother and has purposely put him to “rest”. Ha!, has killed him indeed where “rest” has nothing to do with act of violation against an equals life. According to Poe, the crow said, “never more, never more”. According to Poe,”The Tell Tale Heart”, must tell all. Facts of life? Observations of man? Inspirations of God? All reasonably ventured accounts of our human condition, self imposed, self inflicted.
