Corporal Punishment
Being in the Army never seemed like a great idea to Corporal Heiman Lazzar, especially not when a war was on.
It’s funny how referances are made to war that have other charecteristics or definitions. For example; I fought in the European “Theatre”, Like it’s some kind of stage play.
How about this one; “Yeah kid, I fought in “The Big One”, WW 2. Then we have the referance to; “The Great War”, WW1. Ah yes my boy, there sure have been some battles, yes sir. Of course there was the War of 1812, The Civil War, now that was a humdinger, against the American Indian or shall I rephrase that as Native Americans, this was ongoing for quite a while, some would maintain that it is still going on, The Spanish American War, The Korean War and The Vietnam War which were originaly described as “Police Actions”, tell that to the mothers and fathers of their dying sons, women weren’t on the battle field then. Come 1990 we have the first of the Gulf Wars against Iraq, et al.,with the War Against Terroism that really claimed it’s right to be after the tragedy of 9/11, and a tragedy it remains to this day.
There are other wars that have taken place lke the war against poverty, the war against slavery, the war against inflation, the war against illiteracy, the war, oh, you get the point.
In the time period we are talking about, or more like I am talking about, amounts to only a couple of hundred years. Wow. That is astounding when you really stop and think about it and how many wars have been waged since the beginning of mankind.
