Paying The Toll
Keep a toll on the road for as the river flows there shall go man.
Keep a toll on the road for man deserves not free passage to the end of his days.
Keep a toll on the road for righteousness calls out and none can proclaim,
the payment of truth to give in exchange.
Freedom’s not earned by the sweat of ones brow, toil and trouble a down payment for times past the present and future somehow.
To push, to struggle to strain as you will, never releasing your hand from the till.
Cry out for vengeance, epitaphs of death.
Suffer the final visage cast at last breath.
